The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computing at Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) is a rigorous, research-oriented programme designed to provide advanced research training and foster the development of independent research skills for academics, professionals, and practitioners in computer science, information technology, and related disciplines.

Duration of Study

  • Full-Time: 3 – 8 years
  • Part-Time: 4 – 8 years

This structured progression ensures that students achieve key milestones, from mastering research methodologies to successfully defending their dissertation, leading to a comprehensive educational experience.

  1. A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in the field of Computing or related fields as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
  1. A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in nonComputing fields with a minimum of FIVE (5) years of working experience in the field of computing or related fields must complete prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP.; OR
  • A Master’s degree (Level 7, MQF) in nonComputing fields with less than FIVE (5) years of working experience in the field of computing or related fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP and subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR
  1. Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree in the field of Computing or related fields recognised by the Government of Malaysia must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP.

And

English competency requirement (International Student). Achieve a minimum score of 6.0 in the IELTS or equivalent.

 

TUITION FEES

  • Local Students: RM22,800
  • International Students: RM36,000
