The Diploma in Multimedia Industry is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the rapidly growing multimedia industry. The programme blends theory with hands-on practice, focusing on the creation and management of digital content, including graphic design, animation, video production, web development, and interactive media. Students will gain expertise in using industry-standard tools and software, as well as understanding the principles of design, communication, and storytelling across various platforms.

This diploma programme prepares students for a diverse range of careers in multimedia, offering a well-rounded education that covers both creative and technical aspects. Students will have the opportunity to work on real-life projects, collaborating with peers and industry professionals to create cutting-edge digital content for a variety of media channels.

Comprehensive Curriculum: Covers a wide range of multimedia disciplines such as graphic design, animation, video editing, web development, 3D modeling, and interactive media.

Industry-Relevant Software Skills: Hands-on training with industry-leading tools including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Autodesk Maya, Unity, and more.

Project-Based Learning: Students will work on real-life projects that simulate the challenges of the multimedia industry, allowing them to build a strong portfolio.

Creative Development: Emphasis on creativity and innovation, nurturing students’ artistic abilities while teaching them to communicate effectively through digital media.

Industry Collaborations and Internships: Partnerships with leading multimedia companies for internships, guest lectures by industry professionals, and collaborative projects to provide students with real-world experience.

The Diploma in Multimedia Industry provides a comprehensive course structure comprising university compulsory courses, foundational core subjects, discipline-specific core subjects, and electives such as programming methodology, graphic design, animation, audio and video production, and more. Students are required to complete 93 credit hours to graduate, including 15 weeks of industrial training.

  • Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia Vokasional (SPMV) with at least 3 credits including Mathematics; OR
  • Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent with at least one principle pass in any subjects and credit Mathematics at SPM level; OR
  • Computing Certificate which is recognized or equivalent; OR
  • Relevant Technical / Vocational Certificate which is recognized or equivalent with 1 year relevant work experience or 1 semester of transitional program; OR
  • Pass Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 or equivalent with the approval of the institution’s Senate / Academic Board; OR 
  • Other equivalent recognized qualifications by the Malaysian Government

Upon successful completion of the program, students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate strong creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to conceptualize, design, and produce original multimedia projects.
  • Be capable of working effectively in teams, collaborating with designers, developers, and other professionals to complete projects efficiently and creatively.
  • Understand the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in multimedia and digital media production, preparing them for the challenges of the evolving multimedia industry.
  • Be well-prepared for employment in various multimedia-related roles, with practical experience gained through projects, internships, and exposure to the industry.
