The programme aims to create well-rounded journalists with professional ethics and social skills that are of value to future employers, particularly in media, communication, diplomacy, public relations and publicity. The course provides students with a framework for understanding journalism on a social platform. Key research, communication and media-handling skills are taught to enable students to handle the challenging world of journalism and the media industry.

Overview
This programme will train students to analyse journalism issues and techniques from the academic and practical perspective and train students to be an effective media specialist in the world of information, local or globally. Apart from this, students will be exposed to communication management and creative problem-solving strategies. Students will also be able to understand the role of ICT in journalism and use ICT to address journalism issues.

Entry Requirements
- Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent with minimum C Grade (NGMP 2.00) in any TWO subjects and credit in English in SPM or its equivalent: OR
- Passed Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with at least Jayyid grade and credit in English in SPM or its equivalent; OR
- Diploma or its equivalent with at least CGPA of 2.00 and credit in English in SPM or its equivalent; OR
- Diploma in Communication and Media or its equivalent; OR
- Passed Matriculation/Asasi programme or its equivalent with at least CGPA of 2.00 and credit in English in SPM or its equivalent. Passed Canadian Pre-University (CPU) with minimum marks 60%
- Passed UEC with minimum Grade B6 in any FIVE subjects including English.
- Other equivalent qualifications that are recognised by the Government of Malaysia. For International students, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 OR its equivalent is needed.
- The credit in English in SPM requirement for those under the categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) can be exempted if the qualification contains an English subject and the grade obtained is equivalent or more than the required credit in SPM. A minimum of (Band3) is required if were to use MUET qualification.
- International Entry Requirement: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 5.0 OR its equivalent is needed.
