Master of Science (Computing)

  • In general, the Master of Science (Computing) program aims to provide research training that fosters the development of independent research skills for candidates in Computer Science and Information Technology areas.

  • At the completion of the program, the students should be able to:

    acquire and apply advanced knowledge and skills of Computer Science and Information Technology.
    acquire research skills pertinent to the research process in Computer Science and Information Technology.
    organize ideas related to societal issues in Computer Science and Information Technology discipline
    conduct research with minimum supervision and adhere to the legal, ethic and professional code of practices in Computer Science and Information Technology.
    communicate in verbal, writing and demonstrate effective leadership qualities.
    identify, formulate and solve Computer Science and Information Technology problems.
    manage and seek information through lifelong learning in facing global challenges.

  • Structure : Full-time and Part-time
    Tuition Fees : RM 12,000 (local); RM 14,000 (international)
    Duration : Fulltime – 1 1/2 years (minimum ) to 3 years (maximum)
    Parttime – 2 years (minimum ) to 4 years (maximum)

  • A Bachelor degree of Computing or in the area of science and technology or related to computing, with a minimum CGPA 3.00;
    OR

    A Bachelor degree of Computing or in the area of science and technology or related to computing, with CGPA below 3.00 but above 2.50, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment;
    OR

    A Bachelor degree of Computing or in the area of science and technology or related to computing, with CGPA less than 2.50, with a minimum 5 years working experience in relevant field may be accepted.
    AND for International Student:

    The minimum accepted score of 500 for TOEFL or 5.5 for IELTS or other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia.

  • Graduates in Master of Science (Computing) have a bright career either in public or private sector. The most common types of software engineering career options include as academician, managerial posts in IT, IT Consultant, Project Manager and IT Auditor.
