This program will expose student to the popular and widely used software like Adobe Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, 3D Studio Max and many more. Graduates from this program will not only be prepared to work in the multimedia and information technology areas, but also enable them to pursue their studies at the degree level after completing their study.

  • Core Course Description

    Introduction to Multimedia

    This course enable student to learn how to integrate graphic, audio and video elements and make it as interesting as possible.

    Programming Methodology

    This course is to introduce the concept of programming and give an approach in problem solving. This course also will help student to generate interest of learning programming languages. The steps of the programming life cycle will also be highlighted, in order to ensure the students understand the program development. Students also learn about the contents of programs such as control structures, functions and arrays.

    Computer Fundamental

    This course, student should be able to understand basic computer concept and their terminology in ICT. To expose the importance of computer literacy and able to identify the component of a computer as well as the element of an information system. Besides that, students will be introduced to the history of internet, computer communication tools and computer security risks. In addition, the students will be able to practice on how to apply three types of application software.

    Database System

    This course provides an introduction to database: the concept and basis terminology, data model hierarchical, network and relational, Entity relationship model, normalization, database design, SQL, Ms SQL issues in database and how to use database technology effectively to manage a big source of information.

    Operating System

    This course covers the design and implementation of computer operating systems. The major components of operating systems: process management, memory management and file systems are covered in detail.

    Fundamental Of Computer Network

    This course sets out to provide a basic overview of computer network. This includes learning to setup wireless network as well as wired network and how to configure router and switches.

    Computer System Maintenance

    This course is an introductory course into which it will teach student how to maintain a computer system. These include configuring and formatting Windows operating system.

    Discrete Mathematics

    This course covered the mathematical topics most directly related to computer science. Emphasis will be placed on providing a context for the application of the mathematics within computer science. The analysis of algorithms requires the ability to count the number of operations in an algorithm. Recursive algorithms in particular depend on the solution to a recurrence equation, and a proof of correctness by mathematical induction.

    Content Management & Information Architecture

    This course allows student to expose on the importance of Web application and development.

    Human Computer Interaction

    This course based on project to develop scientific knowledge application about human and computer for concept and techniques understanding of the interaction.

    HTML Programming

    This course expose student on how to program using HTML, which is used globally nowadays. Using various tools, students will be able to develop an interesting website.

    Technopreneur

    This course focuses on business. It teaches student how to market their products and look at Information Technology from a business perspective.

    Typography

    This course emphasizes the importance of typography in the design process and focuses on providing the student with the digital tools and techniques necessary to achieve professional typographic solutions. The digital tools now available have introduced an explosion of new type treatments and techniques, which the digital artist must be capable of reproducing. Knowledge and skills in digital typography are more complex and in demand than ever. Students will learn to incorporate the basic principles of typography with the essential technical skills necessary to achieve success in new media design and production.

    Graphic Modeling

    This course expose students to the creation of graphic and modeling to understand the theories in the chart and its application in the computer.

    Animation Technique

    This course focuses on animation technique involve in the production pipeline. Students will learn about the history of animation, the processes and principles of animation and the technology involve in this development, and also types of animation. Students in the end will not only know how to produce animation project, but also learn how to work in team.

    3D Animation

    This course is to introduce the creative potential of 3D animation software used in games, film and visual effects. The content of this course will cover the fundamentals of creating 3D animation including modeling 3D objects, creating surface materials, animation, lighting rendering and environment creation. At the end of this course student able to develop 3D animation object or character. Besides, student should be able to know the basic knowledge of virtual reality.

    Scriptwriting & Storyboarding

    This course focuses on how to create a script and storyboard for multimedia product. Students will learn about the art of screenwriting, break down the idea to write a script and how to turn the story into a script. Students also will learn types of storyboards, skills and requirements needed in developing the storyboard, the language used and finally producing the storyboard.

    Audio and Video Digital Production

    Digital audio video has come of age. This course will take student through the process of digital audio video production which is provides students with practical experience in the production of digital audio video and students can learn techniques for editing and synchronizing audio and video on computer, with focus on acquisition of practical skills in planning, editing and design. This course is designed to help students learn basics of audio video production and move efficiently and effectively from idea to the finished project.

    Industrial Training

    This course provides the introduction and fundamental experiences toward the understanding of design house working culture and value, standard operating procedure (SOPs) and team works in actual working environment.

    Final Year Project

    Here students will involve themselves in a professional manner in carrying out the work as their final folio. This will put students in a par with the others who a new to the field. Given the diversity of their specialization in information technology, the students encouraged demonstrating their proficiency through the work they create as the basis of specific subjects that have been studied and this may lead them to compete in the future later. Students are given the opportunity to choose the headline in the making of paper work and also works of system that will be created.

    1. A pass in SPM with at least Credit in any 3 subjects inclusive of mathematics or any equivalent qualification;

    OR

    1. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM), with a minimum of Grade C ( GP 2.00) in any subject or any equivalent qualification and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;

    OR

    1. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) all subject / overall, with a minimum grade of Maqbul (pass) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;

    OR

    1. A pass in SKM level 3, and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;

    OR

    1. A pass in any qualification equivalent to Certificate (MQF Level 3) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent.

    Candidates without a credit in mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the Certificate programme contains subjects in mathematics that are equivalent to mathematics at SPM level.

    Candidate with a credit in computing related subject at SPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration.

    Expected Salary

    • Public Sector: Basic starting monthly salary is around RM1500; plus allowances (e.g. housing, travel, entertainment) can total to a sum of RM 1700.
    • Private Sector: the amount of basic starting monthly salary can vary from the above amount. However, the total amount of monthly salary earned (inclusive of allowance) is subjected to negotiation and which may be higher that the public sector
