Library Science refers to procedures within a library and the management of the libraries dealing with identification, gathering, handling, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information resources. There are numerous opportunities for individuals with a Diploma in Library Science. They can become assistant librarian in an academic library, i.e. university and college libraries. They can work as special librarians that work in non-traditional setting such as law offices, museums, archives, hospitals, and corporate offices. Media specialists typically work in a school library-resource and media centre. They are able to work as an assistant librarian in public and municipal library, and as an administrator in any organization.
