This programme aims to provide graduates with a broad understanding of digital photography through the study of history, theory and practice as used for commercial purposes. The program emphasizes on fundamental digital photography technicalities, creative techniques & skills, analytical and research in all aspects and kinds of digital photography production; advertising photography, commercial photography, editorial photography and general photography.

With industry cooperation and consultation, this programme covers the knowledge and technology to focus on the future direction of digital photography. Apart from this, the programme also aims to provide exposure and also opportunity for artists to unearth new talent and share their expertise in the field of digital photography production.

Through a carefully planned structure, this programme aims to emphasize the effectiveness of the new digital technology in digital photography: to ensure the graduates apply the values and positive attitudes, emphasizing ethics and professionalism, with ethical leaderships culture of teamwork in different area or field; to inspire new generation of professional photographers, fostering and mentoring the emerging talents, utilizing learning environments and authentic production experience to contribute for the progressive global media culture

Successful candidates will become multi-skilled commercial photographers, photojournalist and underwater photographer with clear understanding of the relationship between theory and practice. The programme includes all the essences of lifelong learning to cater the development of digital photography industry, globally.

  • Tuition Fee: RM49,840(Malaysian) / RM60,885 (International)
  • Duration: 3 years
  1. Recognized Matriculation or Foundation with CGPA 2.0;OR Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with 2 full passes or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.0; OR
  2. Pass Diploma in Photography Technology or Diploma in Digital Graphic Design from Universiti Selangor;OR Recognized relevant Art & Design Diploma from other universities or colleges with Standard Minimum Certified or Accredited with CGPA ≥ 2.5; OR
  3. OR
  4. Recognized related Technical and Vocational Certificate or equivalent with three (3) years relevant work experience; OR Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) Level 5 and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with at least 1 credit OR Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) Level 4 and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with at least 1 credit and one (1) year relevant work experience;OR
  5. Other equivalent qualifications recognized by Malaysian Government;
  6. Shortlisted candidates will sit for blind test.
  7. A digital portfolio of past and recent works. Overseas student must pass relevant English courses by Universiti Selangor or other recognized institutions at satisfactory level or equivalent exemption qualifications.
  8. Minimum TOEFL score of 550 or minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent proficiency and recognized by the Senate

The Visual Art Department reviews and revises the contents of this programme from time to time in order to ensure the knowledge given to the students will be in line with current knowledge in industry.
