Bachelor in Information Technology programme is a vocationally oriented programme emphasizing the resolution of technological problems leading to the effective management and analysis of information in both private and public sectors. The programme’s foundation is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills in key areas of IT as well as professionally relevant knowledge, qualities and skills in such areas as problem solving, communication, ethics and teamwork. Graduates with skills and understanding of Information Technology processes will be developed through a planned series of practical skill based activities. Graduates will participate in, and contribute to, peer group critique, portfolio reviews and exhibitions of work-in-progress that will enable graduates to identify areas for development and improvement including vital most sought after soft skills such as the communication and presentation skills, critical thinking and scientific problem solving (pre-planning, production and organization), leaderships skills and entrepreneurship.

  • Credit Hours: 123
  • Tuition Fee: RM30,255(Malaysian) / RM39,735(International)
  • Duration: 3.5 years
  1. Pass STPM or equivqlent with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.0) in 2 subjects, and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or Grade C (CGPA 2.0) in STPM; OR
  2. Pass STAM (Jayyid grade) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level; OR
  3. Matriculation / Foundation / Asasi with at least CGPA 2.00 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or including Mathematics; OR
  4. Diploma in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology or Information System or equivalent with CGPA of at least 2.50 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level.
  5. Diploma in Science and Technology or Business Studies with CGPA of at least 2.50 can be accepted to entry subject to a rigorous internal assessment and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level;OR
  6. Other equivalent qualifications.
  7. Note: Candidates whose CGPA is less than 2.50 but above 2.00 with a credit in Mathematics at SPM level can be accepted for entry subject to a rigorous internal assessment.

    The credit in Mathematics requirement at SPM level for candidates of nos. (1), (3), (5) and (6) can be waived if the requirement contains Mathematics subject and the achievement is equivalent / more than the credit in Mathematics at SPM level requirement.

The Computing Department reviews and revises the contents of this programme from time to time in order to ensure the knowledge given to the students will be in line with current knowledge in industry. Students have a choice of either of these majoring areas:

  • Industrial Computing
  • Management Information System
